How are you doing? Are you holding up okay?
If you’re here, it means you’re probably interested in seeing a list of issues we agree and disagree on so you can accept or dismiss me based on those ideas and be on your way. I would like to do something a little bit different instead.
On the whole, campaign websites are just plain awful. They feature well-coiffed men and women in suits who all promise safety, security, riches for you, humiliation for your enemies, “equality and justice for all”, puppies, free apple pie, and everything else that sounds amazing, but that amounts to nothing of substance once they get into office.
In the real world, your car still gets stolen, homeless encampments still catch fire under the I-5, your rent or property taxes increase, and 4 years later nothing has changed except you have less privacy, less money, and the state has somehow become more, well…Orwellian.
My campaign is different. I want to focus relentlessly on two key pillars that I believe threaten the health of our state over the next decade: 1) Washington’s economy in the face of a looming recession and 2) advocating vociferously for your rights even in the roughest of times. You won't find a single picture of me in a suit or shaking hands with anyone on this site, but my campaign is just as serious. I'm a normal guy with a professional career for the past two decades and have chosen to cast my name into the race because I'm fed up with the cancer that is spreading throughout our beautiful state and have an actual plan to fix it that doesn't involve MORE of the same.
As you browse the site, I hope you’ll notice that on most issues I am neutral. This is, most assuredly, not by accident. The Libertarian vision is a state of politics in which you, the citizen, are allowed to determine what actions and activities are best for your life, provided they harm no others nor their property.
We seem to have forgotten that it is the state's responsibility to guarantee your rights, protect your property, and do both in a way that does not grant more power to itself. It is NOT supposed to make purchasing decisions for you, nor advance any particular narrative, and especially not weaponize the law against you or your political causes under threat of fines, increased taxes, jail time, and physical force.
If Washington State is to continue being at the forefront of progress and technology and survive in the uncertain times ahead, we must leave behind the red team/blue team way of thinking that has brought us class conflict, instability, and division.
Libertarianism is a philosophy of critical importance for us in 2024. Join me as we explore what that would look like here in Washington!
